Fat Burning Foods

There are several foods that are amazing fat burners. Following are a list of fruit/veg that will kick start the fat burning/toxin flushing process taken from "Burn Fat & Flatten your Stomach" Paul Richardson (http://www.articledashboard.com)

Citrus fruits: oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, lemons, and limes contain high concentrations of Vitamin C (this is also called ascorbic acid). This Vitamin C has a fat burning quality.
Vitamin C reduces the efficacy of fat. It reduces its content and can dissolve or dilute fat. By diluting the fat, it makes it less effective, and easier to flush out of your system. Vitamin C also works on cholesterol deposits. Vitamin C can help burn out the cholesterol, hence, making it difficult for cholesterol deposits to form in blood vessels.

Soybeans contain lecithin, this chemical will shield your cells from accumulating fat. This chemical prevents, like a shield, fat from forming on your cells. It will also break down oily deposits in your body. Snack on soybeans at least 3 times a week and you'll be boosting your bodies ability to get rid of fat. You can find soybeans in most health food stores.

Apples, Berries, Fresh Fruit containing a substance call pectin. Pectin is a great chemical found in almost all berries and fresh fruit - the pectin is contained in the cell walls of fruits and common in apples. Pectin limits the amount of fat your cells can absorb. This will put a natural limitation on the amount of fat your cells can absorb. Pectin, once in your system, has a water binding property, it absorbs watery substances, and these watery substances in turn bombards the cells and makes it release fat deposits.

Garlic oil or the juice of garlic has a considerable protective quality to cells which help to reduce fatty deposits. When taken, it brings down the levels of fat. Garlic powder, oil or various types of seasonings with garlic has huge antibacterial and antibiotic qualities which can cure many ailments. It also has the power to reduce fat in the cell walls of the intestine. considerably.

Asparagus contains the chemical asparagine. The asparagine is a type of alkaloid which stimulates the kidneys and enhances the circulatory system. These alkaloids affect the cells and break down fat. It also contains a chemical that helps to take away waste from the body by breaking up the oxalic acid, this acid tends to glue fat to cells, so by breaking the acid up, it helps to reduce fat levels.

Beets are a strong diuretic that focuses on the liver and kidneys. Beets flush out floating body fats. They have a special iron the cleanses the corpuscles, corpuscles are blood cells that can contain fat deposits. Beets amazingly also contain a chlorine that also helps to flush out fatty deposits. This chlorine stimulates the lymph which will clear out the fat deposits.

Brussel Spouts: stimulate the glands, the pancreas especially, which releases hormones the has a cleansing effect on the cells. There are also minerals the stimulate the kidneys. Waste is released quicker and it helps to clean out the cells.

Cabbage will help to cleanse your body of waste matter because it contains sulfur and iodine, which helps to cleanse the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines. Cabbage is a great food if you should have a tummy or a middle age spread. The diuretic in cabbage will help to break up the fat in this area.

Carrots contains carotene, a form of Vitamin A, this carotene will start a fat flushing reaction in your system. This effect will literally wash out fat and waste quickly. The carotene will be changed into vitamin A in the intestines and this process will create a speed up in your metabolism and cause a reaction in your cells to remove fat deposits.

Celery in the raw, not cooked, has a high strength of Calcium in a ready to use form, so when you eat it, the calcium is sent directly to work. This pure form of calcium will ignite your endocrine system. The hormones in your body will break down up the accumulated fat build up. Celery also has a high level of magnesium and iron which will clean out your system.

Cucumber contains a high sulfur and silicon content. These minerals work to stimulate the kidneys to clean out uric acid, which is a waste product. With this uric acid being washed out, it stimulates the removal of fat, and loosens the fat from the cells.

Horseradish (natural root form) has an amazing effect of dissolving fat in cells (no side effects) and also as a cleansing effect on the body.

Lettuce contains iron and magnesium. These minerals will enter your spleen, your spleen helps your immunity and protects the body from illness. The spleen will use these minerals make them stronger, and send them to the cells and tissues. Lettuce also helps the liver, increase your metabolism, and wash out fatty cells. The darker lettuces have more of the minerals. So add Lettuce to your diet NOW!

Onions, similar to garlic, have minerals and oils that will help to breakdown fat deposits and speed up your metabolism. Have raw onions every day, it has more power than garlic and with the milder smell, it will make an excellent addition to your diet.

Radishes scrub the mucous membrane of the body because it contains high levels of Iron and Magnesium. These minerals actually help to dissolve fat in the cells.

Tomatoes have high Vitamin C and Citrimalic oxalic acids. The acid will accelerate the metabolic process. It also helps the kidneys to release more water and helps to wash away fat. Tomatoes have a high level of natural acids with the enzyme activated minerals prompt the kidneys to filter out large quantities of fatty deposits and then you get rid of them from your system.

Apple Cider Vinegar one of the best liquid diuretics in small quantities. You can add it to your salad as a dressing. What makes this such a powerful diuretic is this: It is made from apples and the malic acid in apples will create a fat burning process.

12 Cell Salts

My friend sent me an interesting link today. The link is to an article written by Robert Wilkinson called "The 12 Cell Salts and Their Astrology Signs"
So what are Cell Salts?
Cell Salts (Biochemic Salts or Tissue salts) are also sometimes known as Schuessler Salts because the concept was developed by Dr William H. Schuessler, a German physician, in the late 1800's. He recognized that twelve of the inorganic salts found in our bodies have specific biological functions. Dr. Schuessler felt that if the body was lacking in any of these salts, a loss in health occurred and that this deficiency could be corrected with micro-doses of these salts. Schuessler Salts are inorganic minerals found in nature as a salt. They form part of the composition of the earth. Tissue salts are usually prepared as tablets made with lactose powder (lactose free versions are also available) - they can also be found in our food so I thought worth a post to examine which foods the salts are found in.

The twelve salts are:

So to the article… about the astrological correspondences for the 12 Cell Salts which is interesting because many people believe their ascendant sign dictates their basic chemical makeup....

Here it is

The 12 Cell Salts and Their Astrology Signs
by Robert Wilkinson

http://www.aquariuspapers.com/astrology/2008/04/the-12-cell-sal.html

A friend thought the astrological correspondences for the 12 Cell Salts would be an article many would find useful, so welcome to today's subject for consideration. The 12 cell salts are considered to be necessary to our health, and I have found over the years that the salts corresponding to the Ascendant and sign on the 6th house are very important in our biochemical workings.

The Ascendant, of course, represents the physical vehicle and therefore the primary chemical makeup of a person. The sign on the 6th house also shows important factors concerning the physical health, since the 6th represents the health of an individual. I've also found that if a person has a stellium (3 or more planets) in a given sign, that mineral salt needs to be kept in the diet regularly, as do the substances ruled by the Moon sign, since the Moon rules our absorption and is active in our biochemical processes on a constant basis.

Apart from these few suggestions, there are other astrological factors that show our need for various salts. However, thanks to our fascist AMA, there are some strict laws governing what can and cannot be said regarding our health and what substances we might need. Therefore I cannot offer suggestions in this forum as to what you may need.

So that you may get the maximum benefit from this article, in addition to offering you the sign correspondences, I'll also offer you a few foods that are high in certain salts. Obviously there are other foods with these mineral salts in them, so don't confine yourself to what you read here. Please feel free to explore the subject to whatever degree you are called to do so, and if you find that certain salts (or foods) seem beneficial to your health, then by all means find the diet and/or supplements that work for you.

What follows are the astrological correspondences to the cell salts:

An apple juice a day...

"It is remarkable how closely the history of the Apple-tree is connected with that of man." -- Henry David Thoreau

Always juice your apples with the peel on, raw apple juice contains a substantial amount of vitamin A due to the juice from the apple peel. Vitamin A plays a particularly important role in your vision, and many other bodily functions. Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant that is also found in raw apple juice.

Raw apple juice contains both soluble and insoluble fibers. Soluble fiber reduces your risk of heart disease by preventing buildup of cholesterol in your blood vessels. Insoluble fiber keeps your digestive system working properly and smoothly. Raw apple juice can reduce your risk of kidney and liver disease, if you drink it regularly. This is due to the fact that apple juice flushes out these organs.

Apple juice can be used to cleanse the body and should be included in the diet, the juice speeds up the bowel action. However, drinking a lot of apple juice will lead to the production of large amounts of gas , if the bowel action is impaired in any way. When used in an enema mixed with water, the juice or concentrate of the apples heals bowel irritation.

In the ancient world raw apples were used to counter diarrhea and related digestive disorders. Apples were thought of as being cool and moist and good for digestion. Apple based juices and herbal fruit infusions were often prescribed for the treatment of persistent fevers and all kinds of eye infections.

Though not high in iron themselves apples have a very beneficial ability in that they can aid the body efficiently absorb the iron found in all the other foods - including eggs and organ meats like liver. Apples are quite rich in their content of the essential mineral calcium. The calcium found in the apple helps the human system absorbing all the calcium found in different foods.

Interesting Tid Bits:
  • To keep your apple juice from turning brown: Simply push a lemon through your juicer right before you begin juicing your apple. The apple peel carries some of its nutritional value.
  • Dr. Seif O. Shaheen and colleagues from London's King's College and the University of Southampton found that all you need, is two apples a week to reduce your risk of developing asthma by 22-32 percent. The researchers hypothesize that certain flavonoids from the apple may be key in the protection against asthma since flavonoids from other fruits and vegetables did not affect asthma risk.
  • Apples contain malic acid, which is capable of softening gallstones and other hardening the body.
  • Compounds in apples and apple juice called phytonutrients act in the same way as red wine and herbal tea; they delay the break down of LDL or "bad" cholesterol.
  • It's the only fruit that mixes well with all types of vegetable juice.
  • The peels of raw apples can be saved and used to prepare a herbal and healthy tea, this tea is considered excellent for the kidneys and should be used in treating chronic kidney problems
